Progress update, November 2022

It’s the last Tuesday of the month and it’s time for this month’s progress update. A while back the team made the decision to focus solely on developments to make sure that raised funds are being used where they are most needed. Unfortunately this development phase meant that other areas such as marketing, the website, and public outreach had to be minimized for a while. However, full attention to these aspects will return when the application is ready for main launch.

Cardano Summit

Smart Places’ Björn Heinze (CEO) attended the Summit in Lausanne, while Robin Hellmann (Associate Director) presented the project at the community-led event in Berlin. We had a great time catching up with partners like SingularityNET, IAMX and Mandala.

IAMX is delivering the identity and DID solution, while SingularityNET provides AI moderation, data monetization and more. With Mandala we’re exploring character identities, metaverse and building the connection between social media and the metaverse.

Based on the high level of audience interest, Robin Hellmanns presentation was well-received.

The team is growing
During the last few months we’ve added three more developers to the team (Marco Gester, Osman Ishak and Collin Brown). Marco and Collin will focus on the mobile application and backend structure, while Osman will focus on the backend for Pioneers and land plot customizations.
Dr. Stylianos Kampakis, Senior Data Scientist and AI engineer, has been added to the board of advisors. Dr. Stylianos Kampakis will work mainly with data monetization and ecosystem rewards. Currently we’re in the progress of “stress testing” the reward system by putting it through different data scenarios.

We also added a few community members that will attend weekly meetings for easier communication with the community. These are known in Discord and Telegram as Richard Shift, Westmarch & Qurious.

Application

Nearly done with flow charts for every process in the Alpha version. Currently being integrated with backend before the upcoming Alpha release.

The new developers are fully integrated and making good progress.
UI/UX and backend developers are working together to be able to release an alpha version of the application before the end of the year. This is a great opportunity to retrieve valuable feedback from the community and make changes before the main release through Google Play Store and iOS.
