It is with great sadness that Smart Places announce the death of our friend, colleague and CEO Hung Luu. Hung passed last weekend due to unexpectedly severe complications from a recent illness.
Hung was founder of Smart Places, but much more than that.
Smart Places lost a visionary, but the world has lost a great human being.
Hung always had the goal of making the world a little bit better and creating solutions that can change people’s behavior for the better. He had many revolutionary ideas and plans but with Smart Places he had the vision to change the way we interact with each other. He wanted to bring people together in real-life and as users are content creators, he wanted to monetize the value that was created and distribute this back to the users. An ecosystem that would eventually be governed by the users themselves. The team is more motivated than ever to fulfill Hung’s vision. Our COO and co-founder Björn will carry out his duties until further notice.
Our thoughts and condolences go to Hung’s family and his beloved ones. They too are a part of the Smart Places family and we will do what we can to support them through this difficult time.
No words can adequately express our sadness of Hung’s passing, but we are all grateful for the unique time and so precious moments we shared with this great human being. We will never forget you Hung!
